KARACHI: The Pakistan Navy’s Annual S
afety Review for the year 2016 was held at Bahria Auditorium on Thursd
ay. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah was Chief Guest on the occasion.

afety review is held every year with the aim to create s
afety awareness and inculcate s
afety culture among naval personnel w
hich provides a road map to further enhance the safe working environment in Pakistan Navy.
Admiral Zakaullah while addressing the audience, expressed his satisfaction over the adherence to s
afety culture in the Pakistan Navy. The Naval Chief further added that a S
afety Review is actually a process of self accountability which helps to evalu
ate and gauge the s
afety standards in light of the occurrences of in previous years. The Naval Chief highlighted that during war or peace time, s
afety and professionalism complement each other in the successful execution of naval operations. However, besides the constraint of resources, provision of war
equipment entails that we must be mindful of s
afety protocols in order to keep precious lives and costly
equipment safer during all evolutions. The Admiral further said that professionalism is indispensable to nurture a robust s
afety culture which can only be attained through effective training and devotion. He emphasized that adherence to s
afety rules doesn’t mean that one should become timid and reluctant during the execution of professional duties, rather, everyone is expected to be pre-emptive and dauntless in following the SOPs during the execution of the mission.

afety trophies and awards.
