KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly’s session on Friday was disrupted when a commotion broke out between Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MPA Saifuddin Khalid and Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza, resulting in a walkout by MQM from t
he session in protest.
The commotion started when the MQM said it wanted to talk about public issues and share its grievances, but Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza cut them off.
In response to not being allowed to speak, the par
ty members protested, “Why are we not allowed to discuss our grievances? Why are our privilege motions bulldozed?”
MQM MPA Saifuddin Khalid complained that he was not being allowed to talk about their concerns.
Shehla Raza, in respo
nse, instructed MPA Saifuddin Khalid to follow the guidelines.
“I will not entertain your ‘call attention&rsqu
o; notices,” she warned. She continued, “Get out of t
he session if you can’t read them!”
She then shut down the opposition’s microphones, prompting the MQM MPAs to st
age a walkout from the assembly.
