ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Newspapers Employees Confederation (APNEC) Secretary General Ikram Bukhari has urged the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry to immediately take notice of threats given by Rawalpindi NAB Director General to the office bearers of media organisation.
In a video message on social media, Secretary General Ikram Bukhari said that the NAB DG of Rawalpindi region has called him in office three days earlier and given open threats to him. The NAB DG stated, “He would not run the Media City Welfare Housing Project”, Ikram Bujhari added. He said that the concerned DG pressurised some people to return their all registries along with interest. He said that the Media City Welfare Housing Project had been started especially for media workers’ welfare, as media workers were not included in Rawalpindi Media Town. He further stated that the project had been started with the close consultation of the then government and concerned governmental departments.
