LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Tuesday welcomed the substantial reduction in the prices of petroleum products once again and said that its benefits should reach the people of the province in the real sense.
He directed the Provincial Price Control Committee to take steps for reducing prices of essential items at the ratio of the decrease in petroleum products. Similarly, he said the departments concerned should also take measures for reducing transport fares at the same ratio at which the prices of petroleum had been curtailed.
The chief minister said that departments concerned should work in a coordinated manner for provision of relief to the masses and availability of the petroleum products at the reduced rate should be ensured. He said that there should not be any complaint of non-availability or overcharging of petroleum products at any petrol pump.
He said the Pakistan Muslim League-N government was making all out efforts for providing relief to the citizens. CM Shehbaz said that substantial decrease in the prices of petroleum products was the gift of his government to the people and the masses should be fully benefitted.
He said the government had won the hearts of people by curtailing rates of petroleum products and the process of provision of relief to the people would continue in future as well.
